Job summary

Tronox, a world-leading titanium dioxide producer, is seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our Medina operations. You will monitor process parameters, adjust controls, and maintain safe, stable production.

You will enter data into logs, support maintenance, and participate in incident investigations while coaching teammates to build technical expertise. This on-site, shift-based role demands strong SHE commitment and collaborative problem-solving to sustain high-quality output.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain safe and stable operations.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance and start-up/shutdown tasks per SOP.
• Enter data into shift logsheet and Control Room systems accurately and promptly.
• Perform plant rounds to identify issues with plant/equipment.
• Raise maintenance requests and participate in incident investigations.
• Collect in-process samples for laboratory analysis.
• Ensure handovers are thorough to maintain continuity.
• Operate plant/equipment without guidance when needed.

Role Definition

Takes accountability for SQLCST (Safe Quality Low Cost Sustainable Tons) for their post / work-station. Performs a range of activities in more than one area using complicated equipment. Monitors the operation so that the product quality and inventory is maintained. Provides coaching and guidance in order to develop technical expertise within the company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain safe and optimal conditions, ensuring smooth and stable operations.
• Prepares equipment for maintenance.
• Enters data accurately and promptly into the shift logsheet, logbook and Control Room system (e.g. SIC).
• Perform thorough and timely plant rounds to identify issues with plant/equipment and ensure safe, and stable operations.
• Raise maintenance job request in system as applicable.
• Detect and report process deviations promptly, using A3 investigation for process problems.
• Participates in incident investigations.
• Utilizes IT systems for reporting and data gathering.
• Follows & Perform all normal and emergency start-up and shutdown tasks strictly according to the approved SOP to ensure safe, stable, and error-free operations.
• Ensures all shift handover requirements are well detailed, easy to understand and ensure continuity of plant/process performance is maintained.
• Operates plant/equipment without guidance (e.g. field, localized DCS).
• Collects and delivers in process samples for laboratory analysis.
• Participate and assist team members with tasks.
