Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level are responsible for leading work activities and working autonomously with minor direction towards predetermined long-term objectives. They might act as internal consultants and facilitators by providing guidance to deliver and perform operational activities. Their main operational role includes reviewing research requests, judicial rulings, legal decisions, and fatwas issued by authorities to guide research agendas accordingly.

Job Responsibilities
Shariah Research
  • Support the development of Zakat research plans and budgets, as well as relevant standards and methodologies for conducting research, ensuring alignment with ZATCA priorities.
  • Consolidate and review research requests from public and relevant committees, prioritizing based on urgency and complexity (rapid or complex research).
  • Apply effective communication methods to ensure optimal workflows between research personnel and stakeholders.
  • Assess the need for collaboration with external data sources to conduct research and fulfill complex inquiries.
  • Establish a list of prospective data sources, ensuring they meet ZATCA standards.
  • Conduct applied research and analysis in selected domains according to research specifications and plans.
  • Perform legal accounting studies related to Zakat calculations and collection procedures to provide guidance and answer queries.
  • Collect and analyze judicial rulings, legal decisions, and fatwas in Zakat and tax disputes.
  • Develop reports on study findings for presentation to stakeholders.
  • Represent the agency in meetings with other authorities or government agencies when required.
Organization and Operations
  • Follow policies, processes, and SOPs to ensure controlled and consistent work execution.
  • Assist in resolving escalated problems and support junior team members.
  • Escalate complex issues to relevant personnel for proper resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
People Management
  • Train junior staff to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor workflow.
  • Support staff in executing their duties according to policies and processes.

Experience
