Job description
Determines needed maintenance and diagnoses the cause of malfunction, test drives or refers to a test technician as necessary, and/or uses other checklists.
Schedules, routes, and prioritizes job sequences as inputs for further processing and maintenance by the concerned team members.
Records, monitors, and maintains customer and vehicle data to ensure proper manipulation and follow-up for job orders in further stages.
Collaborates, consults, and recommends about any complaints or queries upon checking or reviewing the service history.
States, records, and issues clear repair instructions that cover all issues discussed and agreed with the customer to ensure accurate billing.
Establishes a “time promised” check with the person responsible for work distribution, if necessary.
Ensures repaired vehicles are parked in an area that is convenient for customer pick-up, for taking the customer to the vehicle, or for bringing the vehicle to the customer.
Ensures that service appointments are made timely and conveniently.
Contacts customers and reminds them of recommended maintenance needs and other available services.
Updates the customer database if the owner’s name changes.
Promotes the sale of parts and accessories by advising, consulting, and persuading customers by presenting attractive points on such parts.
