Job Description: Elevator & Escalator Service Technician

Role Overview:

The role holder is responsible for executing service field activities such as preventive maintenance, callback attendance, planned and unplanned repairs, and modernization within the assigned territory/route. Duties must be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and contractual works on assigned units as per route chart.
  2. Conduct adjustments and repairs (planned & unplanned) for Otis products within the area, with minimal assistance from the Team Lead - Mechanic.
  3. Attend to equipment call-backs, conduct inspections, and fault finding to restore service.
  4. Identify and report abnormalities, missing components, safety concerns, and suggest corrective actions and upselling opportunities.
  5. Coordinate with Otis Line Operators to ensure callbacks are attended per service level agreements.
  6. Complete timesheets, log cards, maintenance forms, and related documentation promptly.
  7. Operate within client site rules and escalate conflicts following safety guidelines.
  8. Ensure all operations adhere to Otis safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
  9. Support and mentor junior colleagues at client sites to develop their skills.
  10. Report accidents, near misses, hazards, and unsafe conditions impacting safety to the Team Lead - Mechanic.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in the elevator and escalator industry.
  2. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing elevators and escalators.
  3. Diploma or equivalent education.
  4. Good communication skills.
