Job description

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Sr. Vendor Manager for the Automotive Category in KSA. This role will focus on managing existing vendors and onboarding new vendors to scale the Automotive category in KSA.

The Senior Vendor Manager will be responsible for building relationships with vendors, expanding selection, managing category profitability, optimizing pricing, and developing their team. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set including leadership development, analytical skills, excellent business judgment, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, curiosity about operational details, and a passion for creating a world-class shopping experience for our customers. The position requires a leader who can work autonomously in a fast-paced, highly demanding, and ambiguous environment.

The successful candidate will possess strong business judgment, a track record of project delivery, commercial negotiations, and relationship management, along with deep analytical capabilities. This role involves working with multiple stakeholders such as marketing, marketplace, legal, supply chain, and operations.

This is an external-facing role with close collaboration with vendors to build a diverse selection from local and international sources.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Support the Category leader to drive new strategic initiatives and business opportunities.
  2. Negotiate and build strategic partnerships, align, and close end-to-end vendor relationships and trade terms, including operating model contracts.
  3. Develop the annual portfolio to drive traffic and engagement to the storefront.
  4. Identify automation opportunities to offer scalable solutions and improve key metrics like selection, profitability, pricing, and availability.
  5. Post-launch, own the P&L to meet top and bottom-line targets and lead projects to enhance profitability with stakeholders such as vendors, operations, and advertising.
  6. Source deals during Tier 1 & Tier 2 events to ensure value delivery to Prime customers.
  7. Ensure content quality is best-in-class to boost conversion rates.
  8. Negotiate marketing funds from vendors to enhance category visibility during business-as-usual and special events.
  9. Prepare, pitch, and close the annual Joint Business Plan (JBP) with vendors.
  10. Conduct Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) / Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with vendors on performance and improvement opportunities.

Qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of account management, project or program management, or buying experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of professional or military experience.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions.
  • Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration.
  • Experience with business analysis and P&L management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience handling heavy and bulky categories.
