Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Technical Head for Track Systems to provide strategic and technical leadership across the Middle East. You will guide railway projects from concept through commissioning, shaping solutions, managing client relationships, and driving innovation.

You will lead major bids, oversee multidisciplinary delivery, and ensure value, safety, and regulatory compliance. A Chartered Engineer with international rail experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years in track systems across high-speed, conventional, freight and metro railways.
• Strong expertise in track systems architecture and integration.
• Proven leadership of complex, multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Strong track record in senior stakeholder and client management.
• Experience in assurance, approvals, and certification processes.
• Experience managing equipment suppliers.
• Experience in design, testing, and commissioning of track systems and asset management.
• Proven ability to lead technical bids and consultancy assignments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high‑value assignments.
• Chartered Engineer.
• Member of a relevant professional institution.
• Experience across international rail projects and markets.
• Experience with client and contractor organisations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership across track systems delivery and asset management.
• Lead development of track systems solutions for best-in-class delivery.
• Oversee track systems lifecycle elements within domain and ensure compliance with approvals and certification.
• Lead major bids, tenders and procurement, including feasibility studies and strategic inputs.
• Drive innovation in railway concepts and system interfaces, promoting digital technologies.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
