Job Title: Senior Technician
Reporting to: Assistant Technical Manager / Team Leader
Job Purpose:
As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for executing and leading advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities across a wide range of attraction rides and devices. You will play a key role in ensuring operational readiness, safety, and reliability of all equipment, while supporting installation, certification, and technical operations in collaboration with global ride manufacturers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical & Operational: Perform and lead daily, scheduled, and annual maintenance (including REHAB) on rides and devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in compliance with international standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Support ride certification/recertification processes and ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Maintain accurate records using asset management systems and technical documentation.
- Participate in evacuation drills, safety inspections, and emergency response procedures.
- Leadership & Quality Control: Supervise junior technicians and ensure quality control of all maintenance activities.
- Step in for the Team Leader when required and assist in planning manpower, tools, and materials.
- Conduct inspections of tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with calibration and safety standards.
- Provide feedback for continuous improvement of SOPs, manuals, and technical processes.
- Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to SEVEN’s QHSE policies and safety protocols.
- Ensure optimal use of consumables and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Support the implementation of technical standards such as EN13814, ASTM F24, and SASO regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
1. Education & Experience
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related technical field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the leisure and attraction industry, preferably in theme parks.
- Proven experience in major ride/device maintenance, including annual REHAB and complex roller coasters.
2. Nature of Experience
- Familiarity with EN13814 and/or ASTM F24 standards.
- Hands-on experience with roller coasters, dark rides, carousels, wind tunnels, climbing walls, karting, and playgrounds.
- Skilled in NDT procedures, lubrication, torquing, and interpreting technical schematics.
- Experience with ride vendors such as Mack, Vekoma, Zamperla, B&M, Maurer, IE Park, SBF VISA, Gosetto.
3. Soft Skills
- Proficient in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, time management, and guest safety awareness.
Training & Certifications (Not Mandatory)
- Pneumatics and Hydraulics training
- Work at Height certification
- Train the Trainer course
- IPAF (Mobile Elevated Work Platform license)
- PASMA (Mobile Scaffold Erection license)
- NEBOSH (Health & Safety)
