Purpose of the Function
Serve as the primary safety advisor and interface between Dräger Safety and the customer, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive safety solutions that protect people and assets in hazardous environments.
The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for the commercial and technical development of safety accounts, promoting Dräger’s portfolio of Protection and Detection products with a focus on industrial safety, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Safety-Centric Customer Engagement
- Act as the single point of contact for customers regarding all Dräger Safety solutions, ensuring alignment with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
- Build strategic partnerships with customers in high-risk industries (e.g., oil & gas, construction, utilities) to promote a culture of safety through the adoption of Dräger’s safety technologies.
- Map and maintain key stakeholders and decision-makers focused on EHS, risk, and compliance functions.
Safety Solutions Sales
- Proactively identify customer risks and offer fit-for-purpose safety solutions that address gas detection, respiratory protection, escape equipment, and life-saving systems.
- Conduct technical evaluations, safety audits, and demonstrations to recommend appropriate Dräger safety solutions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to Dräger management regarding regulatory requirements and safety sponsorships.
Operational Coordination
- Ensure seamless delivery of safety solutions by coordinating internally on:
- Order fulfillment, invoicing, training, and service needs
- Customer technical support, product demos, and factory visits
- Compliance with terms, standards, and safety regulations
- Actively support post-sales service and maintenance discussions to ensure ongoing product reliability and risk control.
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Contribute to the development of sector-specific sales strategies and action plans targeting improved workplace safety and hazard prevention.
- Participate in budget planning for safety accounts, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, safety investments, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify growth opportunities in the industrial safety market, ensuring solutions are scalable, compliant, and technologically advanced.
Market Intelligence and Compliance
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity in the safety field.
- Maintain real-time updates in the CRM system to reflect safety trends, opportunities, and risk-related customer feedback.
- Support marketing with insights for thought leadership, safety campaigns, and “Guru Management” in key safety accounts.
Field Activity and Relationship Management
- Conduct daily visits to customer sites, particularly high-risk operations, to assess needs and offer practical safety solutions.
- Maintain detailed visit reports, aligned with safety goals and compliance requirements.
- Foster relationships with governmental and non-governmental safety bodies, local authorities, and HSE regulators to ensure proper representation and compliance.
