KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist AM HSE in conducting Risk Assessments, Controls and framing Standard operating procedures, guiding, mentoring, and coaching safety officers on various HSE tasks.
- Ensure that the key process owners are trained in safety procedures so that they can impart the same to their respective departments
- Responsible that adequate PPE is maintained for Safety
- Responsible forinvestigating incidents above a level 3 of risk using ICAM Involved in recommendation of disciplinary actions for person who do not abide by safety procedures
- Oversee all functions related to HSE and keep it up to date with local laws and DP World Global Policies
- Attend review meetings with AM HSE / HSE Manager and represent HSE department
- Report departmental activities and Key Performance Indicators to the AM HSE / HSE Manager/ COO
- Ensure economical, efficient, and productive use of the department’s equipment and manpower
- Motivate and encourage staff to achieve superior performance and reorganize achievements
- Manage the department’s financial, administrative, and personnel activities
- Establish and implement Performance Testing Standards and Best Practices for HSE department
- Will coordinate with Designated Champions and HSE officers for training schedules
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the Port Traffic Management Plan
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the EMS system, Waste Management Plan
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of the Port Environment Management Plan
- Make sure all employees are given periodic safety training and refreshers
- Responsible for safety & discipline in the work area
- Implementation and compliance with Fatal Risk Standards
- Implementation and compliance with Safe Work Practices
- Implementation and compliance with HSE policy, procedures, systems
- Investigate accidents in accordance with defined safety procedures
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Experience in safety function in heavy engineering, energy, utilities related industry
- Preferable: 5 to 9 years
- Experience in managerial role
- Mandatory: 2 to 4 years
- Experience in port industry preferred
- Graduate/ bachelor’s degree in engineering, health, and safety and or equivalent with safety certification such as NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Diploma in OHSP, NEBOSH IGC, Lead Auditor 45001, 14001, 9001
- Preferable: Advanced study in occupational health, safety, and environment management
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Zero fatalities
- Reduction in Lost Time Incidents (LTI), equivalent to or more than the minimum targets defined by Global Safety and Environment
- Reduction in equipment damages as defined by management
- Accurate and timely investigation of accidents
- Conduct and Review Risk Assessment and SOPs up to the requisite DP World Safety target
- Accomplishment of annual KPI’s and PMC
