A leading automotive company is seeking a Senior Specialist in Supplier Development to ensure quality assurance within the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a minimum of five years of experience, and strong skills in technical assessments and supplier relations.
Key responsiblilities:
• Participate in cross functional technical reviews to assess viability of supplier industrialization strategy.
• Establish and lead supplier technical site assessment and Benchmark suppliers on best in commodity production strategies.
• Utilize the Potential Supplier Assessment (PSA) method including manufacturing capability assessment and key supplier performance metrics to rank potential suppliers for sourcing recommendation.
• Participate and provide supplier technical assessments in the sourcing decisions made with Purchasing, Engineering, ME and SQ.
• Coordinate and perform supplier manufacturing capability/feasibility assessments, process audits, corrective action plans, and implementation of continuous process improvements.
• Implement APQP and monitor supplier KPI performance over mid-and long- term time frame.
• Lead resolution of quality issues with suppliers and work cross functionally to resolve design related issues.
• Conduct quality training at suppliers as required to meet the Company quality goals and procedures.
• Serve as an escalation conduit for suppliers into the Company for issue resolution.
• Identify ongoing quality improvement opportunities during development and serial production through Lessons Learned and Internal Quality Metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop and implement specific Safe Launch Process at pre-production to eliminate any potential serial production issues.
• Proactively work cross functionally to resolve any design, packaging, shipping, or supply issues.
• Provide supplier technical assessments to support sourcing decisions as required.
• Compley with Company Policy, Systems, Processes, and Procedures.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum Five (5) years of related experience.
