The Senior Specialist – Assets Systems Operations is accountable for guaranteeing the availability, performance, and lifecycle management of operating systems and application platforms that facilitate physical asset operations. This role encompasses the management of Windows and Linux environments, including responsibilities for patching, configuration, runtime stability, and the integration with infrastructure and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Windows Server and Linux systems across physical and virtual environments.
- Monitor platform health, apply updates, and support system hardening and optimization.
- Respond to system incidents, follow up on escalations, and ensure resolution within KPI targets.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams for deployment, compatibility, and integration.
- Ensure backups are operational, tested, and compliant with business continuity policies.
- Document system configurations, OS baselines, and change records.
- Manage OS-level vendor contracts, subscriptions, and support cases.
- Support compliance with internal security and operational standards.
- Assist in budgeting related to system software, licensing, and support agreements.
- Track and meet system operations KPIs related to uptime, performance, patch compliance, and incident resolution.
- Participate in IT projects involving deployment, refresh, or restructuring of asset and system environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline. Preferred certifications include ITIL Foundation, CHAMP, CompTIA A+/Server+/Network+, and Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator, with additional preference for knowledge of SAM or ISO/IEC 19770.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in IT asset lifecycle management, systems operations, and end-user support in mid to large-scale environments.
- Skilled in ITAM tools such as ServiceNow, Lansweeper, JAMF, and SCCM, as well as in endpoint management (Windows/macOS), imaging, MDM, Active Directory, software licensing, and compliance.
