Responsibilities:
The Senior security engineer will be joining the growing Cyber Security team, working with multiple and varied clients with responsibility for all aspects of network security monitoring leading on relevant projects.
Responsibilities
· Responsibility for the identification of network attacks from internal and external sources.
· Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to business areas in requirement of Security Monitoring services.
· Utilise processes and technologies to detect and prevent malicious attacks.
· Enhance tools and techniques to defend attacks.
· Respond to security events, from detection, analysis to closure.
· Work with project teams to design, develop and implement IDS systems into new, or existing, network infrastructures.
· Acts as point of contact and represents Security Monitoring on project delivery workshops.
Job Requirements:
· Education: University degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Holding certificates on IT security such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent
· Experience: 7+ years of IT security experience
· Special Skills: Expert understanding of the current and developing Malware & Trojan landscape. In-depth know-how of full packet capture technologies. Knowledge of correlation tools and SIEM technologies In-depth understanding of sandbox technologies and their limitations. In-depth experience of SourceFire, Snort, or similar Intrusion Detection systems. Expert knowledge of Intrusion Detection signature development and knowledge of log analysis tools and techniques.
