Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Resident Construction Engineer - Civil to join our team! In this role, you will operate as a Field Senior Civil Engineer in construction management, applying site civil engineering expertise for civil and infrastructure work.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Coordinate closely with Contractors’ structural, civil, geotechnical, and construction engineers to ensure site installations are performed per contract documents.
  • Assist contractors with coordination of related trades (e.g., plumbing, fire protection, site drainage, landscape, hardscape, process piping, structural).
  • Witness contractors’ quality control inspections to ensure that the permanent works are constructed according to contract, codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
  • Review contractor-submitted shop and as-built drawings, materials submittals, tie-in procedures, project schedules, and work permits; assist RCEs in obtaining approvals and comments.
  • Review contractors’ structural quality assurance and quality control programs, inspection and test plans, installation, testing, and as-built procedures, providing comments for transmittal.
  • Arrange meetings between the contractor and concerned departments/organizations to resolve interfacing problems during construction.
  • Organize, coordinate, and conduct acceptance inspections and re-inspections of completed works, until deficiencies are corrected and signed off.
  • Assist the Project Controls Cost Engineer or Contract Administrator by reviewing contractors’ invoices for correctness.
  • Attend regular meetings between the construction team and the contractor.
  • Prepare draft civil-related letters, memos, or reports to contractors and departments.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized university, with at least 15 years of experience, including 8 years in project or construction management.
  • Professional registration or PMI certification is desirable.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Experience and knowledge of multi-craft and multi-discipline construction practices.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications, design drawings, Primavera schedules, and contract documents.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and construction scheduling software like Primavera.
