Job Description

The Senior QA/QC Engineer ensures that work/projects are delivered based on good work practices and project specifications to guarantee completion of work at the given time with quality that meets or exceeds client expectations by implementing international quality standards plans and quality procedures in all construction activities.

  • Manage and oversee the quality and workmanship of every activity, with thorough knowledge of all phases of engineering construction relating to Civil, Architectural, and Structural disciplines interfacing multidisciplinary operations.
  • Manage the QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other QA/QC documents.
  • Develop and determine all standards to perform inspections and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods, maintaining high standards of quality for all processes.
  • Follow the QA/QC Plans, Approved Method Statements, Approved Test Plans, and Approved Drawings during the project to meet project quality requirements and client expectations.
  • Ensure that all available Method Statements, ITPS, and Drawings are approved and the latest revision.
  • Ensure that all approved Method Statements, ITPs, and Drawings are followed on-site.
  • Ensure that all superseded documents are removed from the site.
  • Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit to the consultant to ensure it covers all construction activities done on site.
  • Ensure that all site items are inspected thoroughly before calling the consultant for inspection.
  • Ensure that work inspections are carried out as per the plans and advise the construction team for corrections/corrective actions to avoid rejection of work.
  • Ensure that all drawings used in the inspection are approved and the latest revision.
  • Ensure that 90% of work inspections pass during the first submission.
  • Conduct quality toolbox and method statements briefing for all activities.
  • Ensure that method statements briefing is carried out for each activity and records are maintained in the monthly Quality report.
  • Ensure all incoming materials are checked as per project specifications and approved material submittals.
  • Ensure that all materials are inspected internally before offering inspection to the consultant, and before use, raising an NCR to the supplier in case of rejecting any material delivered to site and keeping the record of inspection in the monthly Quality report.
  • Knowledge of work-related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as ISO 9001, QCS, ASTM, BSI, BSEN, ACI, and AASHTO.
  • Have enough technical experience with QC issues, ability to prioritize and multitask, as well as being proactive and deadline-oriented.
  • Ability to interact effectively in English, read drawings, specifications, standards, and data sheets.
  • Proficient in computer applications and systems such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Primavera.
  • Ability to supervise/execute whole sections of a project with minimum management supervision.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP functional skills, are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Desired Candidate Profile
Job Experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering.

Professional Qualification in MMUP Engineer Registration (UPDA) or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent) or ASQC certification (CQM/CQE).
