JASARA PMC is a leading project management consultancy firm and we are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Manager - Design to join our team. As the Senior Project Manager - Design, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design and development of various projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for managing the entire design process from conceptualization to execution, overseeing project delivery by consultants and contractors (on cost, on time, and adhering to client requirements and company standards), as well as managing delivery partner and team performance. The role involves collaboration with commercial, project management, engineering, and design technical leaders to foster efficiency and innovation. Additionally, maintaining compliance with QA/QC procedures, including review processes, is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Lead your team to deliver innovative solutions that provide superior outcomes, providing consistent leadership and supporting client focus and responsiveness.
- Manage the entire design process for roads and transportation infrastructure from inception to implementation, including underground civil utility projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop innovative design solutions that meet client needs and comply with local codes and standards.
- Ensure smooth coordination with consultants, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Oversee the delivery of designables by consultants in accordance with their contracts and project schedules.
- Coordinate design and construction activities within the delivery program.
- Conduct regular design review meetings, providing technical guidance and support.
- Monitor and track project progress, promptly resolving design-related challenges and reporting on these issues.
- Maintain meticulous project documentation, including design records, change orders, and approvals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Coordinate various design elements across teams to ensure seamless progression from design to handover.
- Prepare and present reports and visual presentations on designs, reviews, cost analyses, and project progress.
- Set up and chair meetings with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, capturing minutes as necessary.
- Manage all project interfaces within the delivery program.
- Comply with client's governance requirements.
Requirements:
- A 4-year Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- An Engineering Master's degree is desirable.
- Registration as a Chartered Civil Engineer (or similar) is required.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in roads and transportation engineering, including design, reviews, documentation, project management, and staff coordination.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, techniques, and best practices in road and transportation engineering.
- Experience in designing roads and highways, including geometric design, pavement layer design, and traffic engineering.
- Experience in civil underground utilities design is an advantage.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and related tools.
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with large-scale design and construction programs across private and/or government sectors is advantageous.
- Extensive experience coordinating design activities, managing consultants, and engaging stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant industry and local standards, codes, and regulations.
