GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business delivers electrification systems that enable high-performance applications in energy, maritime, industrial, and grid markets. As part of the global energy transition, we provide advanced motors, drives, energy storage, and control systems that power decarbonization and energy efficiency worldwide.

Role Overview

As a Senior Project Director, you will lead the delivery of a strategic infrastructure project in the Middle East. You will manage all phases of this large, complex, turnkey (TKSI/TKP) program—from contract intake through close-out—ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable execution aligned with customer expectations and GE Vernova’s operational standards.

You will lead multidisciplinary, international project teams to deliver highly customized solutions that are critical to the Kingdom’s energy security and decarbonization roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee execution of one major EPC project or a portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.

  • Manage engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics, commissioning, and handover for synchronous condensers and BOP assets.

  • Lead all commercial and financial aspects of the project including revenue recognition, margin optimization, cost control, invoicing, and cash collection.

  • Coordinate matrixed project teams across functions such as Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Services, Legal, EHS, and Finance.

  • Act as the primary customer interface with the customer and major regional stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with local regulatory and strategic frameworks.

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver against a comprehensive project execution plan and baseline schedule, reporting on progress, risks, and changes.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks; lead effective resolution of issues to maintain schedule and budget.

  • Champion safety, operational discipline, and Lean principles in all phases of project delivery.

  • Foster a high-performance project culture with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a technical/scientific field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience managing large-scale industrial or power systems projects.

  • Proven experience in rotating electrical equipment, grid infrastructure, or energy conversion systems.

  • Familiarity with project delivery under international contract models (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).

  • Formal project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2).

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; knowledge of SAP is desirable.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior delivery of EPC grid or industrial power projects in the Middle East.

  • Experience working with utilities, regulatory agencies, and regional partners.

  • Working knowledge of synchronous condensers, energy storage, power electronics, and balance of plant systems.

  • Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's energy regulatory landscape and Vision 2030 framework.
