An established industry player is seeking a skilled Process Engineer to enhance operational efficiency and ensure safety in plant operations. This role involves monitoring critical parameters, optimizing processes, and collaborating with various teams to implement improvements. 1. Plant Monitoring: all the parameters deemed to be essential to the correct operation, analytical results, main constraints and their frequency of occurrence, stability of the process control system, operational parameters of critical machine, overall material balance and product yields, energy and utilities consumption, chemicals and additives consumption.
2. Process Optimization: Define guidelines and process adjustments for unit's processes optimization, define and check on window operation limits. Identification of marginal improvements in terms of energy efficiency, throughput, feed flexibility.
3. Liaison with Inspection Division: Liaise with the Inspection Division to follow-up on field troubleshooting operations and ensure that all related activities are in accordance with process engineering principles and industry best practices.
4. Follow-up and Coordination: Process Engineer must carry out a rigorous follow-up of the units by performing check runs and test runs. Coordinate with the Operation, Laboratory and OSA, and Planning personnel to carry out and evaluate test-runs. Ensure that corrective actions and quick win improvements are in place and implemented.
5. Internal Inspections: Participate in conducting internal inspections on the unit's equipment prior to start-up, and assist in the start-up of new units, shutdown and process inspection activities.
6. Incident Response: In case of incidents, near misses on other abnormal events on the Units, assist Operations in defining a stable safe position. Collect the process data for a subsequent analysis. Participate in identifying and analysing the causes.
7. Procedure Drafting: May assist drafting procedures, such as chemical cleaning and/or decontamination, handling of catalysts.
8. Supplier Selection: For catalysts, chemicals or additives, participate to the supplier selection (Technical evaluation, Plant trials). Monitor the performance.
9. Process Models: To ensure on a regular basis that the process models are representative of the unit performance.
10. Project Scope Identification: Work with the Project Engineer to identify scope of work for new projects in the unit, develop relevant feasibility studies, and prepare Technology Readiness Assessment (TRA).
11. Technical Input: Provide technical input to new projects and contribute to the development of PFD's, P&ID's. Participate to Process Hazard Analysis.
12. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the Process Engineering services contracts' progresses and highlight any pending issues or problems.
13. Support Energy Studies: Provide support to Energy studies, Environmental assessment, and revision of SATORP General Specifications.
14. Technology Watch: Carry out technology watch by maintaining contacts with Affiliate Plants, vendors, participating in training courses, seminars or symposia.
15. Process Book Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining the Process Book of the Unit.
