Job summary

A leading provider of engineering services in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer for their Jeddah location. The role requires strong planning and production skills, along with contract management and risk evaluation abilities. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Project Management and have over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in KSA.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in the Construction industry.
  • At least 7 years of experience in KSA with reputable firms.
  • Knowledge of project management requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare planning & scheduling requirements (WPS, Baseline & Look ahead schedules).
  • Monitor progress & provide advice to Management.
  • Prepare planning reports including delays and risk management analyses.

Saudi Building & Construction Management (SBCM) is a leading provider of engineering services in Saudi Arabia. The company specializes in Project / Construction Management, Design-Build Services, Project Budgeting & Risk Management, Automation & Systems Integration, and Sustainability Analysis.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Planning Engineer located in Jeddah. The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as planning, production planning, project control, and utilizing analytical skills in communication with various stakeholders.

General requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Project Management degree from a reputable University.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Construction industry.
  • Have experience of at least 7 years in the KSA with reputable firms.
  • Primavera P6 experience & degree.
  • Knowledge of project management requirements.
  • Well-versed in spoken and written English.
  • Contract management experience.
  • The PMPI-SP certificate is a Plus.
  • Power PI experience is a plus.
  • Dispute resolution knowledge is a Plus.

Roles & Responsibilities

Tendering stage:

  • Prepare planning & scheduling requirements (WPS, Baseline & Look ahead schedules).
  • Evaluating tender documents, drawings & requirements.

Post Award:

  • Prepare a project brief based on the tender award document.
  • Progress monitoring & advice to the Management team.
  • Prepare internal & external Planning reports to stakeholders, including:
  1. Delays.
  2. S-Curve.
  3. Critical Path analysis.
  4. Earned value.
  5. Manpower histograms.
  • Delay analysis & recovery plans.
  • Contractual Claims (EOT).
  • Risk Management; include mitigation strategy & impact analysis.
