Senior Planning Engineer- Booster Gas Compressor Station Expansion (Remote Site)

CPECC an EPC company delivering a critical, complex brownfield expansion for Saudi Aramco's Master Gas System (MGS) Phase 3, Booster Gas Compression expansion project. We need an experienced Planning Engineer having a strong personality to create and monitor the site execution planning process. You will be responsible for the following:

• Act as a Planning focal point at the site for the complete scope.
• Assume full responsibility for developing, monitoring, and optimizing realistic Level 4 (Execution) and Level 5 (Field Activity) schedules for the brownfield EPC project using scheduling software and ensuring alignment with Aramco standards.
• Must be able to proactively identify and mitigate the brownfield constraints (shutdowns, tie-ins, permit delays) and adjust schedules whenever required.
• Able to identify materials, tools, equipment and special preparations required for each activity.
• Must be able to develop and track shutdown plans. Familiar with compilation and issuance of works packs to the shutdown team prior commencement of the shutdown.
• Must be able to track updates and changes to the project construction quantities and reports on variances to baselines.
• Develop and implement project-specific procedures related to the Planning & Scheduling, Progress Measurement, Project Reporting etc. in compliance with corporate standards and client (Aramco) requirements.
• Advise the Planning Manager on schedule risks, deviations, and recovery strategies with data-driven insights.
• Track and integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), subcontractor, and vendor schedules into a master project plan.
• Conduct Earned Value Management (EVM), critical path analysis, and schedule variance reporting to support decision-making.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly progress reports (including KPIs, delays, and mitigation plans) for client and senior management.
• Participate in daily, weekly progress review meetings as required, document and maintain issue logs & action trackers, and drive follow-ups with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
• Liaise with Site Engineers to validate physical progress, productivity rates, and site constraints.
• Liaise with the Cost Department to ensure timely and accurate calculations of progress invoices.
• Support Contract Department in claims preparation (extensions of time, disruption analysis) with forensic schedule analysis.
• Participate and support cost and schedule risk analysis workshops / sessions.
• Must be able to review and approve the schedules of sub-contractors, especially for construction, fabrication and manufacturing contractors keeping in view the overall baseline project schedule.
• Must be able to manage project interfaces and liaise with the Clients PMT, Engineering, Operation and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to the project completion.
• Development and presentation of project dashboards to stakeholders on schedule performance, trends, and recovery plans.

Desired Candidate Profile

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 15 years of experience is required, out of which 5 years should be as Senior or Lead Planner.
• Experience of Minimum 1 major onshore (more than USD 500m) EPC project
• Strong experience in interfacing daily with ARAMCO PMT on planning and progress matters.
• Proven track record in planning brownfield construction projects, including shutdown coordination.
• Hands-on expertise in EPC projects for Oil & Gas Process Plants (onshore).

KNOWLEDGE

• Outstanding understanding of the EPC project lifecycle, planning, and scheduling methodologies.
• Excellent Primavera P6 proficiency (resource-loaded scheduling, baselining, progress tracking).
• Excellent proficiency in the development and maintaining the Progress Measurement Sheets (PMSs).
• Proficiency in Power BI will be a plus.

• Ability to prepare and present detailed progress reports for stakeholders.
• Strong analytical thinking for schedule risk assessment and delay analysis.
• Ability to write effective documentation (procedures, reports, recovery plans).
