Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances (2016 and newer), including both on-premises and cloud-hosted environments.
• Configure and maintain high availability solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups and log shipping.
• Perform backup and restore operations, ensuring data integrity and adherence to RTO/RPO targets.
• Monitor database health and performance using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and third-party monitoring platforms.
• Conduct index optimization, query tuning, and execution plan analysis to improve performance.
• Develop and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and jobs for automation and data integrity.
• Implement and maintain database security standards, including user access control and auditing.
• Collaborate with application developers and infrastructure teams on database design and deployments.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, documentation, and periodic testing.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
• Strong proficiency in:
• T-SQL and SSMS
• AlwaysOn Availability Groups, log shipping, and SQL Server Agent jobs
• Index tuning, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting
• Experience with backup/recovery strategies and high-availability architectures.

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Or equivalent Microsoft SQL Server certification

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in hybrid environments involving SQL Server in Azure, AWS, or private cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and automation for database tasks.
• Exposure to SSRS, SSIS, or Power BI integration is a plus.
• Understanding of ITIL change management and incident response processes.
