Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Engineer - MEP / HVAC Specialist to join our team! To lead and oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of mechanical systems, focusing primarily on HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. The role ensures HVAC systems meet project specifications, international standards, and client requirements throughout all phases of the project.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Review, validate, and approve HVAC system designs, load calculations, equipment selections, and technical submissions.

  • Ensure MEP/HVAC design compliance with local codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, or local authority regulations).

  • Conduct technical evaluations, value engineering, and constructability reviews.

  • Coordinate HVAC requirements with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, etc.).

  • Monitor contractor/subcontractor work to ensure installation aligns with approved shop drawings and specifications.

  • Review and respond to technical submittals, RFIs, and material approvals.

  • Work in close coordination with the Lead Designer and/or Design Director and others, lead and direct the efficient, professional analysis, synthesis, and recommendation of conceptual design alternatives to establish, communicate and sell the design vision for landscape architectural design projects.

  • Liaise with Project Managers, Discipline Leads, internal and external team members including master planners, architects, urban designers, specialist designers, all engineering disciplines and quantity surveyors.

  • Plan, program and delegate within the team structure and participate in workflow reporting and planning.

  • Provide high level liaison with Clients and Client’s representatives.

  • Participate in technical reviews and progress reporting and liaising with internal clients.

  • Provide update reports to the Design Review Manager or project manager and clients when requested

  • Report to the Project Director or designated leader advice on any deviations from the same.

  • Adhere to Health and Safety and Quality measures and associated policies.

  • Provide design advice, reports, and liaise with all internal departments as required.

  • Coordinate assignments between the interfacing department teams as required,

  • Communicate and liaise with all project personnel in a professional manner.

  • Assist in the preparation of responses to all design related requests for clarification sent by the Contractor

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical from an accredited university.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in large-scale projects including having overall responsibility for Mechanical / Utilities engineering on large-scale projects and infrastructure projects

  • Knowledge of Mechanical / Utilities design, production techniques, codes and standards, building materials, and construction methods.

  • Expertise must have been gained from working for reputed firms.

  • Must have led mechanical design department working with top firms an on prestigious projects.

  • Knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and knowledge of principles and practices of related engineering design methods and systems.

  • Knowledge of the building industry, regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to architectural work.

  • Excellent Arabic / English verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of international procedures, design guides, automated and administrative practices.

  • Knowledge of major Design tools and applications for his discipline
