Summary of Role:

Responsible for consultancy and engineering activities relating to corrosion management and materials integrity.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Participate under Principle / Lead Engineer Supervision to create and develop the Corrosion Management Program.
  • Specify and identify the corrosion loops and the potential corrosion mechanisms.
  • Create and develop corrosion control strategies covering different mitigation methodologies.
  • Be aware of RBI assessment methodology.
  • Prepare and issue engineering corrosion philosophy, material selection reports, and perform corrosion rate calculations.
  • Create and develop material selection diagrams.
  • Advise on equipment, valves, and piping material selection based on internal and external corrosion.
  • Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion aspects.
  • Support cost-effective material selection during the design phase of projects.
  • Prepare coating and insulation specifications.
  • Ensure all deliverables comply with QA/QC and ISO System requirements.
  • Review, approve, and supervise work using company and client standards.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Successful corrosion practitioner experience in oil and gas or related industries with sound knowledge of relevant plants.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of applicable national and international standards.
  • NACE certification is preferred.
