JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for proactively soliciting and managing large group/catering opportunities with significant revenue potential. Manages group/catering opportunities not handled by an Event Booking Center (EBC). Actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenue. Achieves personal and team revenue goals. Ensures proper and timely handover of business for service delivery. Drives customer/guest loyalty through service excellence. Provides service to grow the account on behalf of the company.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or related area.
- OR 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no experience required.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Understanding Market Opportunities & Driving Revenue
- Target group/catering accounts with proactive solicitation and saturation.
- Partner with the group/catering team for effective management.
- Respond to incoming opportunities outside the EBC parameters.
- Handle all opportunities if the property does not participate in an EBC.
- Identify, qualify, and solicit new business to meet revenue goals.
- Focus on high potential accounts.
- Develop sales plans and strategies.
- Design and sell creative catered events.
- Maximize revenue through upselling.
- Understand market trends and competitors.
- Close opportunities using negotiation and creative selling skills.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
- Handle complex, high-revenue business with high customer expectations.
- Build and strengthen customer relationships through various activities.
- Develop community relationships to expand customer base.
- Support brand's Service and Relationship Strategy for loyalty.
- Deliver excellent service to grow account share.
- Adhere to service and brand standards.
- Provide exemplary service to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable features/services.
Building Successful Relationships
- Collaborate with off-property sales channels.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Utilize sales resources and support staff.
Additional Responsibilities
- Use intranet resources.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Create contracts as needed.
- Support operational aspects of booked business.
