Job description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of metering systems deployed for providing off-grid dry & wet utility services to TRSUC customers. This role oversees all customer metering activities, including operations, maintenance, innovation, asset management, agreements, compliance with regulations, and development of metering equipment (e.g., Utility Meters, Smart meters).

The role works closely with the Utility Operations Team and asset owners where metering equipment is located.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution

• Develop strategies and a roadmap for managing and implementing metering equipment across the destination.
• Ensure project implementation aligns with RSG's timeline and stakeholder requirements.
• Explore and adopt advanced metering technologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Implement processes to ensure regulatory compliance of metering systems.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and IT departments for seamless integration of metering activities.

Functional Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and calibration of utility and smart meters.
• Analyze metering data to identify consumption patterns and efficiency opportunities.
• Establish KPIs for metering operations.
• Work with customer service to address metering inquiries and concerns.
• Develop measures to detect and prevent theft and tampering.
• Coordinate with internal departments for integrated metering activities.
• Manage procurement frameworks related to metering equipment.

Leadership

• Coordinate the system integration team to ensure efficient project execution.
• Manage team performance, set objectives, and provide coaching.
• Promote awareness and commitment to RSG's vision, mission, and values among employees.

Policies, Systems, Procedures, and Reports

• Follow all relevant policies and procedures.
• Maintain documentation and generate regular MIS reports on metering for senior management.

Risk Management

• Identify risks related to metering and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure decisions comply with ERM policies.

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Apply safety, quality, and environmental policies to ensure compliance and high standards.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for improving systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Telecommunication Engineering, or related fields.
• 8-12 years of relevant experience in metering operations within the electricity and water sectors, including 3-5 years in project management.
• Deep understanding of utility operations.
