Job description

Reporting to: Director, Fan Community & Social Media

Job Purpose

The Senior Manager Fan Marketing China will be a key driver in shaping and executing fan engagement strategies across China, ensuring alignment between global and local market needs. This role is responsible for stakeholder management across the foundation, PMO, and external partners, leading media rights negotiations, influencer partnerships, and digital fan engagement initiatives. The role demands a deep understanding of Gen Z communication trends, Chinese digital platforms, and Esports/Gaming marketing strategies to enhance the Esports World Cup’s presence in the region.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Develops and executes China-specific fan marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with global goals.
  2. Leads media rights negotiations, securing the best platforms and partnerships for content distribution.
  3. Builds and maintains relationships with Chinese Esports clubs, influencers, and publishers to elevate engagement.
  4. Defines and tracks KPIs for fan engagement, brand growth, and ROI to measure success.
  5. Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless marketing execution.
  6. Drives localized influencer marketing campaigns that resonate with Chinese audiences.
  7. Oversees budget allocation for China-specific marketing activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in fan marketing, community engagement, or digital marketing, preferably within the Esports, gaming, or entertainment industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Strong knowledge of Chinese digital platforms (WeChat, Weibo, Douyin, Bilibili).
  2. Proven experience in media rights negotiations and strategic partnerships.
  3. Expertise in fan engagement metrics, ROI tracking, and campaign performance analysis.
  4. Hyper-collaborative mindset, capable of working across multiple stakeholders.
  5. Problem-solving and strategic thinking, especially in fast-paced environments.
  6. Energetic and adaptable personality, with the ability to drive engagement and innovation.
