RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical responsibilities:

  • Designing field instrumentation and control systems for oil & gas projects during FEED and detailed design phases.
  • Creating and revising engineering deliverables.
  • Checking deliverables against standards and procedures.
  • Supervising junior engineers' work.
  • Participating in training related to the role.
  • Planning work within allocated man-hours.
  • Coordinating with project managers and team members.
  • Managing work delegation and team billability.
  • Administering and maintaining the SPI system across project phases.
  • Managing user access, roles, and permissions within SPI.
  • Ensuring data accuracy and consistency in SPI database.
  • Coordinating data inputs with other discipline engineers.
  • Customizing SPI modules, reports, and templates.
  • Performing system backups, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Generating instrument index, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and related deliverables using SPI.
  • Supporting integration with other SmartPlant tools and databases.
  • Training and supporting engineering teams in SPI usage.
  • Collaborating with disciplines to develop deliverables.
  • Visiting sites for condition verification and as-built activities.
  • Managing deliverables submission and quality checks.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of Aramco, Sabic, and Royal Commission standards.
  • Evaluating bids, reviewing vendor documents, and managing subcontract scope.

QUALIFICATIONS

Expected:

  • Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or related field
  • At least 10 years of instrumentation experience with SPI administration in Oil & Gas
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior role
  • Knowledge of Smart Plant Instrumentation and MS Access is advantageous
  • Experience in developing FEEDs and P&ID diagrams
  • Proficient in SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) and other SmartPlant tools
  • Experience with high-pressure gas and condensate processing
  • Knowledge of upstream processes and unconventional gas development
  • Knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards is a plus
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and experienced in client project teams
