The role will manage and monitor the inventory and stock holdings, ensuring system stock issues are minimized. The responsibilities include monitoring and controlling stock movement, formulating policies and control procedures to maintain minimum discrepancies, and managing fixed assets across all company locations. The role also involves reconciling inventory details between Oracle Retail and EMIS, escalating discrepancies to IT, and coordinating with other teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing stock transfer processes between warehouses and stores, ensuring accurate recording and updates to reduce discrepancies. Providing regular updates on pending orders, claims for damaged or shorted merchandise, and the replenishment process.
- Monitoring daily transactions, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring logs are raised and reviewed for accurate resolution.
- Investigating daily RESA reports, following up on discrepancies, and addressing negative stock on hand by liaising with relevant managers.
- Periodic verification of stocks to maintain an accurate database of available stocks, depletions, and additions.
- Managing the perpetual stock take calendar, communicating plans, and ensuring compliance.
- Overseeing physical stock takes, reviewing results, and reconciling figures through audits.
- Implementing stock loss action plans based on stock counts.
- Reviewing stock loss postings for accuracy.
- Monitoring and tracking accounts, publishing cumulative results per KPIs or SOA.
- Reviewing damages in stores, mitigating incidents, and ensuring financial provisions are adequate.
- Monitoring supplier RTVs.
- Preparing monthly inventory reports by season and stock age, and sharing with management.
- Preparing stock provision reports according to division policy.
- Facilitating audits related to stock accounts, reports, and reconciliations.
- Controlling assets, maintaining updated system inventory, recording asset locations, and suggesting strategies for clearing unwanted or depreciated equipment. Ensuring stock counts as per SOA and obtaining approvals for write-offs or destruction.
- Reviewing audit findings related to stock inventory and fixed assets, ensuring actions are taken, and recommending process improvements.
Skills required include:
- A graduate degree, preferably in Commerce, with basic accounting knowledge.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the Gulf region.
- Computer literacy.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for detail.
