WSP is looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modelling Engineer to join our team for a stormwater project in Jeddah. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, stormwater drainage systems, and flood risk management. This role requires a civil engineering background and expertise in using advanced modelling tools to design and optimize stormwater solutions.""

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze stormwater and flood management models using software like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE FLOOD, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D.
  • Conduct rainfall-runoff simulations, floodplain mapping, and water flow analysis for stormwater networks.
  • Design stormwater drainage networks, retention basins, culverts, and flood mitigation measures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of stormwater solutions and propose design improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, environmental standards, and international best practices in stormwater management.
  • Support project permitting and approvals with relevant authorities.
  • Integrate hydraulic models with GIS tools for spatial analysis and visualization.
  • Assess topographic, meteorological, and hydrological data to enhance modelling accuracy.
  • Identify flood risks and develop strategies to minimize impacts on infrastructure and communities.
  • Conduct climate resilience assessments for stormwater infrastructure.
  • Work closely with project managers, environmental specialists, and design teams to develop integrated solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in hydraulic modelling, stormwater drainage, and flood risk management.
  • Prior experience in stormwater projects, urban drainage systems, and flood mitigation in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE FLOOD, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with GIS tools for hydrological mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and report preparation capabilities.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with government agencies and consultants.
  • Proficiency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
