Job description

We are currently seeking a Senior Government Relations Officer (Senior GRO) to join our growing operations in Riyadh, KSA. This is a team-leading role responsible for managing all aspects of government relations across the Kingdom, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and alignment with business goals.

The Senior GRO will lead a team of 3–5 subordinates, reporting to the Country PR Lead – KSA Region. The role requires someone who can handle responsibilities independently, take initiative, and perform under minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of junior Government Relations Officers, overseeing day-to-day tasks and ensuring timely delivery of government-related services.
  • Act as the company’s key liaison with Saudi government agencies, ministries, and regulatory authorities.
  • Independently manage complex government relations issues, including licensing, visa processing, labor regulations, and compliance reporting.
  • Guide internal stakeholders through regulatory procedures, offering strategic advice to ensure smooth operations and business continuity.
  • Monitor and interpret legal and policy updates from government authorities and communicate implications to the management team.
  • Represent the company in high-level meetings, official communications, and regulatory discussions.

Skills

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a government relations role, preferably within the engineering, construction, or consulting sector.
  • Proven experience in a leadership capacity, managing teams and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, showing initiative and ownership.
  • Excellent knowledge of Saudi regulatory systems including GOSI, Qiwa, Muqeem, MHRSD, and Chamber of Commerce processes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and operate effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
