Job Title: Senior GIS Applications Development Specialist

Salary: Competitive

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We support the maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel in the safe use of their aircraft, equipment, and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Develops and maintains GIS applications to support geospatial data and intelligence products.
2. Ensures that all GIS applications are optimized and user-friendly while meeting applicable geospatial data standards and policies.
3. Collaborates with other geospatial specialists to integrate GIS applications into geospatial products.
4. Applies analytical and programming skills to develop optimal GIS applications.
5. Monitors GIS applications development processes to ensure quality and timeliness.
6. Maintains comprehensive knowledge of GIS application development platforms and tools.
7. Works well independently and can plan and organize the team’s activities.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

1. Extensive experience in GIS applications development roles.
2. Ideally a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
3. Certificate in GIS.
4. Strong knowledge of GIS application development principles and technologies.
5. Knowledge of data management and database systems.
6. Familiarity with geospatial data standards and policies.
7. Strong analytical and programming skills.
8. Experience in developing GIS applications for desktop, web, and mobile platforms.
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
11. Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS, GeoServer, Python, R, SQL, JavaScript.
