Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Controller to lead the full finance function of our newly acquired manufacturing subsidiary in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is critical in driving the financial integration of the subsidiary into the global operations of the US-based multinational corporation (MNC). The Senior Controller will oversee a team of 8 finance professionals, including 2 direct reports, and will be responsible for establishing robust financial processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Group Accounting Policies, and implementing internal controls to meet SOX requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic finance leader with a strong background in manufacturing, a deep understanding of US GAAP, and experience in financial integration within a multinational environment. This role will act as a key finance partner to both the Sales Manager and Operations Manager, providing insights and guidance to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Integration & Transformation:
    Lead the financial integration of the subsidiary into the MNC’s global finance framework, including opening balance adjustments and alignment with Group Accounting Policies. Establish and implement a robust month-end closing process (transitioning from annual to monthly closing). Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and the MNC’s global reporting requirements. Develop and implement internal controls to ensure SOX compliance. Collaborate with the MNC’s global finance team to align local processes with corporate standards.
  2. Financial Management & Reporting:
    Oversee the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis. Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial data to the MNC’s APMEA regional office and Corporate HQ. Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing actionable insights to the VP Finance, Sales Manager, and Operations Manager. Manage cash flow, working capital, and budgeting processes. Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  3. Team Leadership & Development:
    Manage and mentor a team of 8 finance professionals, including 2 direct reports. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development within the finance team. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills and tools to meet the MNC’s financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  4. Compliance & Risk Management:
    Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, US GAAP, and Group Accounting Policies. Implement and maintain a strong internal control environment to mitigate financial risks. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
  5. Business Partnering:
    Act as a trusted finance partner to the Sales Manager and Operations Manager, providing financial insights to support decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and profitability. Support strategic initiatives, including cost optimization, pricing strategies, and investment decisions.

Qualifications:

  1. Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
    • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is required.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Proven experience in financial integration within a multinational corporation, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and internal controls.
    • Experience in managing teams and driving process improvements.
    • Prior experience in the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
