Job Description
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Instrument, or Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Experience: 15+ years of related working experience.
- Certifications: Certified ISO Vibration Category 2; Certified Thermography Level 1 (optional).
Task Description:
- Serve as a subject-matter expert during root-cause investigations related to equipment failures and repair techniques involving condition monitoring.
- Provide engineering support for issues impacting plant production, caused by rotating equipment and machinery.
- Assist plant personnel in troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment durability and conditions.
- Review vibration data for abnormalities indicating potential future issues.
- Prepare Condition Monitoring reports with recommendations for restoring equipment to optimal condition.
- Manage Proactive Reliability Maintenance Services using Condition Monitoring Technologies (Vibration, Thermography, Ultrasonic), including setting up databases, alarms, and conducting analyses and troubleshooting programs.
- Perform work adhering to total quality management principles, ensuring zero defect objectives and safety, and meeting key performance indicators.
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive lubrication program, providing technical expertise on lubrication-related failures and repairs.
- Establish inspection, analysis, and repair plans for lubrication to meet regulatory and non-regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely condition monitoring activities such as sampling, analysis, and testing.
- Monitor electrical equipment condition, including transformer oil analysis, infrared thermography, partial discharge, and motor current signature analysis.
- Support project quality, cost, and schedule targets, and provide training and technical assistance to internal teams.
- Contribute to work order development with engineering input, especially for critical equipment.
- Guide Condition Monitoring Technicians and other personnel to achieve work objectives.
- Comply with EH&S guidelines and safety protocols.
- Perform additional activities as directed by supervisors.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Category II Vibration Analysis, including designing and managing condition monitoring programs and fault analyses.
- Decide on machinery corrective actions and when to recommend operational restrictions.
- Expertise in vibration spectrum, waveform analysis, impact tests, and transient analyses, influencing significant maintenance spending.
