Senior Environmental Manager SMP

***Clarification on SMP Contract: It is Supplementary Manpower service contract job in which prospective applicants are interviewed and salary determined by NEOM interview panel; and being employed under the payroll of SMP Contract (SMP Vendor). Successfully mobilized candidates would be under the visa sponsorship of SMP Vendor Company/Contract.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Working within the NEOM Mountain Project Management Office, the role will encompass engaging with NEOMs Environment Sectors, and Compliance Entities as well as KSAs regulatory Authorities to ensure Trojena complies with all regulators and NEOM Environmental requirements. The role involved updating the Trojena team of the environmental requirements and engaging and managing environmental consultants for required environmental studies. Follow up closely with NEOM Projects, Consultants, etc. to ensure successful implementation of Environmental measures for the best outcome for Trojena.

REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY

The Principal Advisor Senior Environmental Manager SMP responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Engage with NEOM's Sectors/Departments to understand their requirements pertaining to the Environment.
• Engage with KSAs Regulator Authorities such as NCEC, NCVC etc., to ensure their compliance requirements are effectively implemented
• Prepare for project Environmental Audits and organize the conduct of successful audits
• Coordinate closely with Projects and PMC on implementation of Environmental mitigation action items and ensure compliance with all requirements.
• Engage with Trojena Design, Development and Project team and apprise them of the Environmental requirements concerning their role.
• Engage and manage the independent consultant for required environment surveys and studies such as Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Scoping workshops & report, ENVID workshop and report etc.
• Forecast environmental activities for the project
• Engage and manage third party environmental services.
• Conduct site visits and inspections.
• Promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage project budgets and resources
• Monitor environmental performance of contractors.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Holds substantial experience in working with Regulatory bodies and Environmental compliance requirements
• Proactively resourceful and a problem solver
• Interpersonal skills to clearly explain goals, motivate, and support team to produce the desired results under challenging schedules
• Ability to see the big picture and to focus on details. Demonstrated ability to achieve results and drive to succeed
• Project management skills including organization, time management, resourcefulness, flexibility, communication, and collaboration with team members
• Strong team player and collaborator with the ability to balance teamwork and independent project assignments
• Ability to work with cross-functional, diverse, and multicultural teams
• Minimum of 15 years of Environmental work experience is required
• Experience in GCC and/or MENA region is preferred

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of Environmental work experience is required.
• Experience in GCC and/or MENA region is preferred.
• Strategy and budget management experience is essential.
