Responsibilities:


  • Lead the effective achievement of the department objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing, and motivating employees to maximize individual and functional performance.
  • Coordinate the activities of the team to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, in line with the annual business plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Build and lead a motivated, engaged, and competent team, by setting priorities and objectives, managing performance, and providing ongoing feedback and coaching to meet the functional challenges and goals.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the functional budget for the MEP/ICT Function and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.
  • Developing RUA MEP/ICT work plans including MEP/ICT analysis and design methods to ensure the effective and efficient translation of executive vision for RUA.
  • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of design development estimated cost related to MEP/ICT Design activities by identifying unsatisfactory performance areas, and capitalized performance improvement opportunities.
  • Evaluate and rate the service provider/ consultant capabilities to select the qualified and cost-efficient service providers/ consultants in line with RUA standards.
  • Oversee and ensure detailed feedback is provided on consultant and service provider documentation at all stages of the project from initial design to implementation, to ensure all efforts are aligned and projects are compliant with the RUA’s standards and overall objectives.
  • Implement rigorous and effective value engineering and scope management techniques to achieve the forecasted budgets and required project hurdle rates without loss of quality and design intent.
  • Monitoring the coordination MEP/ICT design phases through coordinating design process with other disciplines in a timely and effective manner as per RUA’s policies and procedures and project-specific approvals from management.
  • Report on project status and design progress, particularly concerning monitoring of cost.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of the MEP/ICT aspects of projects through their development lifecycle to ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the project.
  • Ensure international standards and codes (i.e., buildings, health standards, safety, quality, etc.) are in place in all MEP/ICT aspects of the projects.
  • Coordinate with the relevant functions to ensure the MEP/ICT aspect of all projects is planned and implemented as per environmental conservation and sustainability standards.
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Prepare accurate and timely functional deliverables and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.
  • Apply health, safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of the functional systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
