Job description

Atkins has been commissioned to embed a Construction Project Management team into a key client's office based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The team has been in place since June 2012.

The client operates within the Defence Sector and is implementing a SAR 2bn civil/infrastructure program over the next 3 to 4 years.

The Atkins team is responsible for managing the client's construction program including the appointment of designers and contractors, reviewing, reporting and auditing consultants/contractors submissions. This role reports to the Design Manager.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Advising the Design Manager on technical matters in core discipline
  2. Managing quality and technical compliance
  3. Monitoring work executed
  4. Interface with other disciplines, MOD and contractors

Technical Requirements - Essential
  1. Degree qualified in core design discipline (Electrical)
  2. Chartered Engineer (or equivalent)
  3. Candidate must be Western educated
  4. Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate professional experience of which 2 will have been in a similar senior position
  5. At least 2 years experience on multi-disciplinary design projects
  6. Detailed knowledge of applicable international design standards
  7. Experience of technical design software
  8. Sound technical skill set
  9. Commercial awareness with regards to design advice
  10. Working knowledge of Health & Safety best practices
  11. Administrative skills

Technical Requirements - Desirable
  1. Experience of Saudi Arabia building design standards
  2. Western candidate preferred
  3. Work experience either within the Middle East or on the design of Middle East projects

  5. Experience of undertaking technical reviews
