The Role

As part of the Programme Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a major aviation project in Jeddah, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the review and coordination of electrical design deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

1. Review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications submitted by design consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and codes.
2. Provide technical oversight for LV/MV systems, power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and special airport systems (e.g., AGL, BHS, ELV).
3. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into overall airport design.
4. Attend design coordination meetings and provide subject matter expertise to resolve technical issues and align with project objectives.
5. Support value engineering efforts and design optimization from a lifecycle and efficiency standpoint.
6. Monitor design progress and support quality assurance in all electrical engineering outputs.

Key Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
2. 10+ years of experience in electrical design engineering, with significant experience on large-scale infrastructure or aviation projects.
3. Strong background in working on PMC or client-representative teams.
4. Previous involvement in airport terminal or airfield design is highly desirable.

Key Knowledge and Skills

1. In-depth knowledge of international electrical codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, IET, GACA).
2. Familiarity with airport-specific systems such as airfield lighting, ELV, and backup power systems.
3. Proficiency in design review processes, including submittals, technical reports, and specifications.
