Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of MEP systems for the Aquatics Centre, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and sustainability goals.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to create a cohesive and functional design.
  • Review and approve all MEP designs, drawings, and specifications provided by consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to MEP design.
  • Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of MEP components and systems.
  • Oversee the installation process to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits and meetings to monitor project progress and resolve any technical issues that arise.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in MEP design, particularly in relation to aquatics facilities, and implement best practices where appropriate.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 9-12 years of experience in MEP design management, specifically in large-scale aquatic or recreational facilities.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, codes, and standards pertinent to swimming pools and aquatic centres.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
  • Proficient in MEP design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM).
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills; ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy-efficient MEP solutions is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineering license (or equivalent) is a plus.
