Job Description
- Conduct detailed load calculations and system sizing to ensure optimal HVAC performance based on specific project requirements.
- Develop and review HVAC system design drawings, specifications, and equipment schedules to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate HVAC systems seamlessly into building designs.
- Select appropriate HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, and air handling units, based on efficiency, cost, and environmental impact.
- Perform energy modeling and analysis to propose energy-efficient HVAC solutions that meet sustainability goals.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for HVAC designs, ensuring clarity and accuracy for clients and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors during the installation phase to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct field surveys and site assessments to gather data for system design and evaluate existing HVAC systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to inform design practices and enhance system performance.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for HVAC systems during and post-installation to resolve issues effectively.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in HVAC system design within commercial or industrial sectors.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, local building codes, and energy efficiency regulations to ensure compliant designs.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and optimize HVAC system performance through innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Capable of working collaboratively in a team environment while also possessing strong independent project management skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong emphasis on quality assurance throughout the design and implementation phases.
