Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Data Analyst (Project Reporting) to join our team! In this role you will get to design, develop, and implement robust databases, data collection systems, and advanced data analytics strategies. This role will optimize statistical efficiency and data quality to deliver professional dashboards, data analysis and establish automated reports for various construction functions, driving informed decision-making. Also, setup automated reports that provide timely and accurate data analysis for various construction teams and senior management.
What You'll Be Doing:
Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving project reporting systems and processes.
Identify new process, improvement opportunities and risks.
Design, develop and implement reports, dashboards, databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports and presentations.
Acquire, organize, and maintain data from various primary and secondary
Sources. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Create effective charts, graphs, and dashboards to visually represent project data and facilitate understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Work closely with the construction department, supply chains and stakeholders to gather, maintain and analyze data and set up automated reports to ensure report accuracy.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to construction projects. Apply testing and statistical analysis to construction projects data.
After receiving the raw data, the candidate will need to perform the analytical processes and the automated reports.
Work with the Project Controls team in compiling and presenting progress and cost reports, and identifying variances.
Ensure all reporting activities comply with relevant company policies and procedures.
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets
Connect and integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
Create calculated columns and measures using DAXfor advanced analytics
Develop data models and ensure performance optimization of BI solutions
Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into functional reports
Provide support and training to business users on Power BI and related tools
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology, statistics, mathematics, or related technical or scientific field; or a related subject.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar position.
Able to develop dashboards in Power BI from the operational data received.
Familiarity with Microsoft suite of programs, data mining, ability to develop and manipulate, and maintain databases.
Demonstrated experience using software packages used for advanced statistical analysis of operational data and tools for data visualization. Minimum of 3 years of experienceas a BI Developer or Data Analyst, preferably within the construction or engineeringdomain
Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and M language (Power Query)
Strong Excel skills (formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot)
Experience with SQL, data modeling, and ETL processes
Experience with Power Appsand Power Automateis an advantage
Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or Power Platform are desirable
Ability to identify systems enhancements and new capabilities, concept demonstrators, capability business cases.
Ability to provide training as new systems and capabilities move into operational use.
Background in the creation and execution of reporting, information management systems, processes and procedures in a construction/engineering program environment.
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized, conscientious and proactive.
