An established industry player is seeking a Senior Cost Engineer with a solid background in electrical, mechanical, or telecom projects. This role involves coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance with standard policies, managing cost control systems, and preparing detailed financial reports. - Coordinate with key members of the Project Team to ensure that AMC’s standard Policies & Procedures are complied with in every project.
- Review budget and schedule baseline with the input from the Engineering, Technical and Project Teams.
- Deploy and implement Prolog cost control system in Head Office and Projects.
- Monitor costs and schedules of AMC’s project commitments.
- Oversee preparation of associated financial reports including cash flow projections and earned value analysis.
- Provide, on a regular basis, concise and realistic forecasts of the construction costs of the project.
- Participate in the evaluation of all significant field purchases and sub-contracts and advise the Project Manager on funds available.
- Prepare the Cost Management Plan.
- Obtain or modify Cost Coding Structure after getting approval.
- Create the Revised Budget with the help of the Tendering, Engineering and QS Teams, after approval upload into Prolog Manager.
- Record proposed changes, variation orders and claims in Prolog System.
- Assist in the analysis and negotiation of AMC change orders and claims.
- Prepare budget forecast reports and cash flow reports, as may be required for the projects using Meridian Prolog Manager and Converge.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Planning Engineer and Quantity Surveyor for accurate and current job cost reporting through Prolog Manager software.
- Prepare financial reports and earned value analysis using Prolog Manager to help management in financial planning.
• Bachelor Engineering Degree.
• 7 - 9 years Experience in big construction projects (Gulf Area Experience Advantage).
• Very Good User for MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Courses preparation or certifications related to total cost management are an advantage.
• Very good English.
• Very good communication skills.
