Job description

As a Senior Cost Control Engineer, you will manage project schedules, budgets, and performance to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery. You’ll develop detailed schedules, monitor costs, mitigate risks, and prepare progress reports. Working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and clients, you’ll ensure smooth communication and efficient resource allocation for successful project execution.

Key Accountabilities

The position involves:

  • Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Monitoring project budgets, approving contractor invoices, change orders, and financial adjustments.
  • Identifying and managing risks related to cost, schedule, and quality with mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing and submitting comprehensive reports on project progress, budget status, and schedule updates.
  • Coordinating communication between project teams, subcontractors, clients, and senior leadership.
  • Managing resource allocation for labor, materials, and equipment to optimize project performance.
  • Evaluating changes in project scope and implementing change management processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, legal, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of project control engineers, managing performance and fostering collaboration.
  • Supporting project close-out activities by finalizing documentation and capturing lessons learned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

We are Looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PMP certification and Master’s degree in Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in cost control within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with project control software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Oracle Aconex, Oracle Unifier, AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, deliver within deadlines, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.
