A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer to manage contract activities throughout project lifecycles. The role involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts while ensuring compliance with laws and project specifications. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil & gas or infrastructure sectors.
As a Senior Contracts Engineer , you will play a critical role in managing contract-related activities throughout project lifecycles. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with legal, commercial, and technical standards. You will collaborate closely with project teams and stakeholders to protect company interests and ensure contractual obligations are met.
Key Accountabilities
The position involves:
• Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing contracts, subcontracts, and service agreements with a focus on risk mitigation and compliance.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender documentation related to contracts, including pricing and commercial terms.
• Reviewing client-issued tender documents (ITB/RFP) and advising on risks, obligations, and deviations.
• Leading or supporting negotiations on commercial terms and contract amendments (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).
• Administering contracts post-award, monitoring deliverables, deadlines, payment terms, variations, and warranties.
• Identifying, evaluating, and preparing documentation for claims, disputes, change orders, and extensions of time (EOT).
• Supporting legal teams in resolving contract disputes and arbitration processes.
• Conducting contract risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans to ensure compliance with laws, standards, and company policies.
• Maintaining accurate contract documentation and generating status reports for project leadership and stakeholders
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
We are Looking for:
• Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in contract management or engineering, preferably within oil & gas, infrastructure, or EPC sectors.
• Strong understanding of contractual and legal principles relevant to construction projects.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and contract management or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Aconex.
• Ability to work independently and perform under pressure in fast-paced project environments.
