A Snapshot of Your DayOur Compression Service Organization is looking for a highly driven, self-motivated Sr. Commercial Project Manager to join our team of CPMs for the Middle East Region. In this role, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects and project financials (controlling, reporting, and forecasting) of large and complex projects, as well as mentoring other CPMs to enable their development. You will act as a project entrepreneur responsible for commercial aspects, project financials (controlling & reporting), and maintaining clean books and records. You will co-lead the project together with the project manager with the objective of completing the project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards, customer requirements, and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG). Effective partnership and teamwork between the CPM and the PM are key to overall project success.
How You’ll Make An Impact- Collaborate with project managers and co-lead large, complex projects according to PM SE guidelines and contractual agreements.
- Manage all commercial aspects and project financials, including monthly revenue recognition, financial planning, risk and opportunity management, lessons learned, and profit margin & cash flow optimization.
- Handle finance-related project topics, liaising with stakeholders such as Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Foreign Exchange, and new collaboration models.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS15, local GAAP, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing project risks and opportunities, preparing payment claims, and providing input for negotiations based on lessons learned.
- Support claim management, back-charges, and insurance cases, ensuring proper follow-up and alignment with project processes and guidelines.
- Lead reporting and controlling topics in the country, representing CP services in Qatar to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Engage in special assignments and interactions with internal partners and external auditors as needed.
- Guide and mentor other CPM team members to develop their expertise in Commercial Project Management.
- Travel when necessary, up to 25%, within the region of employment.
What You Bring- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or equivalent experience.
- 7-9 years of professional experience in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, risk and opportunity assessment in project controlling.
- Project management, negotiation, strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial data.
- Thorough understanding of IFRS and Siemens Energy FRGs.
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, and business analytics tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau or similar), with curiosity about AI applications.
- Ability to anticipate issues and mitigate risks proactively.
- Effective team collaboration skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
