Job Description

Your new role, what's involved?

1. Primary duties of the Civil Engineer involve ensuring Civil plans and design documents are in accordance with best practices, applicable codes and standards, and monitoring Civil site activities to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes and ordinances.
2. Review Civil plans, calculations, models, specifications, shop drawings, and related documents for compliance with project codes, laws, ordinances, regulations, policies, and requirements.
3. Monitor site activities to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
4. Attend and witness site inspections and commissioning activities as needed.
5. Ensure compliance with best practices pertaining to energy efficiency, sustainability, and operability.
6. Grant approvals, approve revisions, and coordinate with other disciplines.
7. Advise and consult with architects, engineers, contractors, and builders on Civil requirements & project policies.
8. Attend site visits and resolve field-related issues.
9. Prepare all communications electronically through emails, texts, and other approved electronic media.
10. Resolve Civil technical issues with Contractors to ensure progress of works is not affected.
11. Assist in the training of Civil inspectors.
12. Provide technical support in Civil field for projects.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

1. A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline from a recognized university.
2. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, out of which 3 are in similar project scale and complexity.
3. Previous District Cooling experience.
4. Excellent written and verbal skills with fluent proficiency in English & Arabic.
5. Strong understanding of civil engineering principles.
6. Proficient in project management software.
7. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
8. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
9. Leadership and team management abilities.
10. Knowledge of quality and health and safety standards.
