Network Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will configure and install various network devices and services, perform system upgrades, monitor performance, and ensure security and reliability.

1. Design, implement, and support network infrastructure including LAN, WLAN, and WAN.
2. Configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.
3. Perform network maintenance, system upgrades, and security configurations.
4. Monitor network performance, resource utilization, and system availability.
5. Collaborate with vendors and IT personnel for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
6. Supervise helpdesk staff and provide technical support to users.
7. Recommend IT solutions to business problems and develop wireless network infrastructures.
8. Design and integrate network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and incident response.
9. Establish and review information security policies based on global standards and best practices.
10. Develop governance for information security and manage security incident responses.
11. Ensure compliance with government regulations and directives related to information security.
12. Monitor for security breaches and work with colleagues to improve security practices.

Responsibilities

1. Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
2. Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
3. Monitor network performance and resolve escalated issues.
4. Create and test security measures, including access controls and disaster recovery plans.
5. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Requirements

• Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator.
• Professional certifications such as CCNP or CCDP.
• Strong understanding of network operating systems like JUNOS and Cisco IOS.
• Deep knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with access control models and network security.
