Senior Accuracy Control Engineer

Purpose:

The Accuracy Control Engineer will monitor, control and continuously improve design details, planning, and work methods in shipbuilding to maximize productivity by implementing and maintaining dimensional control standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement “accuracy control” standards and procedures.
• Conduct special studies to examine the accuracy of shipbuilding processes.
• Validate record dimensions using AutoCAD 2D and 3D model information.
• Utilize statistical methods to identify and address root causes of dimensional inaccuracies.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure dimensional control requirements are met.
• Continuously improving accuracy control processes and procedures.
• Organize and conduct accuracy control training for engineering and production staff.
• Supervise accuracy control technicians and ensure adherence to standards.
• Manage projects related to dimensional control and accuracy improvement.
• Prepare reports and documentation on accuracy control activities and findings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience accuracy control or a related field, 5 years of which in shipbuilding or a similar manufacturing industry.
• Experience in working with Class Societies and with International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) rules and regulation for new build.
• Experience in using Laser Scanner/Tracker, Total Station, Space Analyzer.
• Experience with AutoCAD (2D) and 3D tools.
