Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:


  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Saudi Arabia. This role is critical in ensuring
    financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong operational control in a
    retail and distribution environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of
    5 years of experience in Saudi Arabia in a similar role and be well-versed in
    Saudi tax laws, HR regulations, and ERP systems (ODOO and SAP). Fluency in
    Arabic and English (read, write, speak) are mandatory. Experience in managing
    accounting functions related to retail inventory, product distribution, and
    point-of-sale operations is essential.

  • The role will report directly to the Finance Manager.

KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:


  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts
    receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.

  • Manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate recording of
    stock movements, cost of goods sold (COGS), and stock valuation.

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory variances between warehouses, retail
    outlets, and ERP systems.

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax returns
    (Zakat, VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax) in compliance with ZATCA
    regulations.

  • Maintain and ensure compliance with e-invoicing (Fatoorah) standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls around retail and distribution
    transactions, including sales, returns, and inter-branch transfers.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure payroll compliance in accordance with Saudi HR and labor laws and
    coordinate with HR on payroll-related entries.

  • Utilize ERP systems (ODOO and SAP) for financial data entry, inventory
    tracking, and reporting.

  • Support internal and external audits with complete documentation and
    timely responses.

  • Collaborate with sales, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure
    financial alignment with operational goals.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in Saudi Arabia,
    specifically in a retail and distribution company.

  • Strong knowledge of inventory and product accounting in a
    retail/distribution context.

  • In-depth understanding of Saudi taxation: VAT, Zakat, WH Tax, Corporate
    Tax, and e-invoicing (Fatoorah).

  • Familiarity with Saudi HR and labor laws, particularly as they relate to
    payroll and employee-related financial matters.

  • Proven experience with ERP systems: ODOO and SAP.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Male (Indian/Pakistani Nationality).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA
    certification is a plus).

  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with cross-functional
    teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a
    dynamic retail environment.
