Overview

We are seeking a Seismic Depth Imaging Geophysicist to join the Geophysical Imaging Department. The Geophysical Imaging Department supports Saudi Aramco exploration and development programs by providing timely quality geophysical solutions focusing on subsurface images and quality of reservoirs and prospects. The department works in a solution-based model that integrates different geophysical disciplines like survey design, acquisition, time processing, depth imaging, near surface modelling, borehole geophysics, potential fields, rock physics, and inversion.

As a Seismic Depth Imaging Geophysicist, you will be responsible for designing seismic imaging workflows, implementing the latest seismic imaging technologies, and playing a teamwork role to provide fit-for-purpose solutions to minimize structural uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

1. Design seismic imaging workflows to improve the quality of subsurface images for a given geological setting.
2. Implement the latest seismic imaging technologies to augment the quality of geophysical solutions.
3. Work dynamically within the geophysical solution-based working model by interacting with different disciplines for a common goal.
4. Interact closely with clients to understand their business needs and provide fit-for-purpose solutions.
5. Assess uncertainty related to seismic imaging work and share its impact on delivered solutions.
6. Participate in project peer-reviews as needed to assure quality of work.
7. Work closely with developers, whether internally or through vendors, to provide seismic imaging technologies to solve issues such as near surface, noise, multiples, velocity models building, and resolutions.
8. Present work to management and team members whenever requested.
9. Mentor junior geophysicists in learning seismic depth imaging through hands-on projects.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

1. Bachelor Degree in Geophysics from an accredited university. An advanced degree is a plus.
2. Alternative acceptable disciplines in conjunction with work experience would include Physics or Geology.
3. A minimum of 15 years of experience in seismic depth imaging with exposure to recent related technologies. Expertise could be either with a service provider or a major oil and gas company.
4. Experience in effective decision making in land, transition zone, and marine (Ocean Bottom Cable, Ocean Bottom Nodes) seismic imaging.
5. Show evidence of having worked to implement the latest technologies and design workflows for seismic depth imaging.
6. A wide variety of geological settings resembling different seismic imaging challenges.
7. Exposure to programming and software development for seismic data imaging is a plus.
