Job description

Keeps the Assistant Security Manager/Director of Security informed of all security-related matters. Depending on the distribution of fire and security responsibilities, coordinates with the Director of Engineering in this matter.

Liaises with management personnel and all employees, assisting with security problems and loss control.

Liaises with local law enforcement and fire & safety officials.

Maintains proper grooming at all times.

Attends training classes as per schedule.

Shows full cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.

Is aware of daily activities and has product knowledge of all hotel facilities.

Trains security employees on resort regulations and all factors affecting resort operations, including fire prevention and safety procedures, basic firefighting, lifesaving techniques, crime scene preservation, actions, duties, and powers when crime is detected, crisis management, report writing, public relations, and psychology.

Supervises the daily processing and distribution of security reports to management.

Keeps all records and reports concerning security matters and resort business confidential.

Is fully trained and prepared for all emergency situations according to procedures.

Continuously evaluates potential security threats.

In coordination with the engineering department, conducts regular preventive maintenance of all safety equipment.

Supervises that all employees use the proximity card reader at the security post at the staff entrance.

Strictly controls access in and out of the back-of-the-house for contractors, visitors, and suppliers. Visitor passes are issued and controlled.

Regularly supervises all security posts, including the CCTV room.

Ensures all staff are familiar with resort emergency procedures and are prepared for any emergency.

Executes regular technical skills training.

Reviews the Duty Manager/Night Manager book daily and takes corrective action when security issues arise.

Reviews the security logbook daily and takes necessary actions, informing the Security Manager.

Maintains a monthly overview of security staff vacation and public holiday balances.

Familiarizes with all relevant company documentation, especially the Operational Standards Manual for their responsibility area.

Updates the emergency manual with appropriate procedures and forms in consultation with the Security Manager.

Regularly trains existing employees and newcomers with live fire drills.

Conducts skills and technical training within their area of responsibility regularly.

Qualifications

University degree in any field. Minimum 2 years in a similar role within a five-star hotel, preferably in the UAE. Strong team management skills, computer skills, and excellent communication skills.
