Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the security manager responsibilities andessential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for all Guests and colleagues within theirline of sight, which includes the car park
Patrol theirdesignated area only
Be alert for fire hazards and unsafework practices and unsafe conditions.
Be able to actaccording to all Emergency Response Plans
Maintain goodpublic relations with Guests
Report for duty at least 15minutes prior to shift starting time
Be present at all dailybriefings and de-briefings
Know the position and name ofevery Security Officer on shift
Maintain follow up action toensure adherence to schedules and work standards
Be alert forany unusual occurrences and take appropriate action
Primarily responsible for safeguarding property, employeesand patrons of the hotel
Make detailed reports of alloccurrences/incidents during your tour of duty. Fill in allincident/accident/end of shift reports without fail after every shift
Attend to all other relevant paperwork as needed
When reporting for or finishing duty, Security Officers willnotify the Director or Assistant Director of Security
Whenassigned for a particular job or function, Security Officers will beguided by job descriptions
Security Officers will notdiscuss/ divulge department details/ information to any othercolleagues/outsider/ media failing which defaulter’s services will besubject to Progressive Corrective Action up to and includingdismissal.
Security Officers will be required to use commonsense and make judicious decisions. The basic aim being to diffuse thesituation as quickly as possible. They will be polite, diplomatic andprofessional in handling situations, yet firm in upholding theFairmont’s policies and procedures
